  November 20, 2022 - A bit too young but shows a complex and expressive full package with grades and shades of black fruits.
  
  Not sure I'd wait for it to fully mature, sometimes this wine loses its most interesting characteristics with aging, becoming too plain

  January 17, 2019 - Flickinger Customer Appreciation Tasting (Casino Club - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Bright red cherry and berry with faint spice and floral notes that are hinting at Volnay. Good weight and length.

  April 4, 2018 - Dinner with Henri Boillot (Chicago, IL): Fanboy I am of Volnay, I actually found the 2016 Rugiens more to my taste than this. I think, in all fairness, that this is a wine caught shutting down, which is why it wasn't as expressive as it could have been. There are glimmers of red and black fruit here, along with a tannic structure that seems to play a larger role than it ought to be in 2014. Overall, the nose here is great, but the palate needs much more ability to open up again.
