February 2, 2020 - Re, but quite light colour. Starting to look mature

Typical boreaux blend bouquet, but not as oppulent as we expected. No distinct flavours of fruit.

Quite silky on the palate, but somewhat disappointing concentration and length.

All in all didn't quite live up to quite high expectations, might not have benn a 100% bottle

December 24, 2019 - In my cellar since release. Decanted at 4pm and tasted over the next 6 hours and with Christmas Eve dinner. Medium garnet color with no bricking. Nose was very expansive with floral tones, earthy leather and sous bois and a red fruited undertone. Palate still had some tannic structure and bright acidity. Flavors included red cherry, red currant and red plum in layers with earthy leather and tobacco throughout. Very long finish. Delicious throughout the night but eclipsed for just a few magical moments by the ‘70 Ch. Lascombes.

September 9, 2019 - Dinner at Pizzeria Bebu (Chicago, IL): Served blind as to vintage. Sadly there was a slight bit of TCA that got worse in a hurry. But in the five minutes I was able to evaluate this, I found plenty of the magical Palmer perfume; the palate though was quite thin and structural. Given the higher tannin content, I guessed 1975; I'm pretty happy with that.

July 20, 2019 - Healthy ruby color, with bright floral and red berry notes on the nose. But on the palate, the fruit is weaker than I remember. It has lost weight since my last encounter, and had trouble holding up against the rich flavors of the Hainan chicken rice (house version) we were having. It's not unpleasant, but it's past its best, and will not make old bones. Drink up, drink up!
