April 27, 2024 - PNP. Deep black cherry, soil and licorice on the nose. Young and tightly wound palate, sappy with lots of fine grained tannins but delivered in a sorbet like fruit infused package. Blind I would have guessed 2015 for the vintage.

January 18, 2024 - Perhaps the best Chevillon wine I've had, and I've had several over the years. This was quite rich without being "over the top". Besides the very pleasant dark red fruit and sous bois notes both in the bouquet and flavors, the finish was long and quite refined for this appellation and the producer's normally rustic style. Getting quite brown on the edges and has noticeable sediment, as to be expected. Drinking very well right now, but might hold for another 3-4 years or so. It very nicely paired with seared rare skirt steak with caramelized shallots and red wine sauce. Nice stuff and wish I had another bottle!

November 14, 2021 - Really singing when first opened -- rich, full, complex, long. After 1 hour the wine began to decline. Suspect this is fully mature and should be had sooner than later.

December 31, 2020 - Dark cherry, spices (like cinnamon) and sous bois on the nose. This is surprisingly dense and concentrated. Palate with lots of red fruit, leather, balsamic vinegar and a hint of medicinal, bitter herbs. Unusual, but really good.

May 24, 2019 - Initially a closed nose with some wood and cork notes. Used some cellofan and it became better. Day 2 and balance and nose better/fine.

Not very burgundy in style. Iron like in medoc, balsamic, acidic and a lot of wood giving it a dry and not very friendly taste. With food and more years in bottle it would be more tasty. Medium long.
