June 27, 2020 - Super fragrant. Sweet cherry, herbal, stalky. It’s fruit sweet in the mouth too, with a balance of fine, emery tannin. It’s got good depth, some cola/licorice action and is quite high toned. No rush here.

November 6, 2019 - Offered Sweet red berry, silky and full on palate, long finish

January 26, 2018 - Happy Australia Day! This is a quality pinot. Its class and elegance apparent from first sip. The nose is highly perfumed and alluring, inviting deeper inspection. The black cherry fruit are slightly sweet and beautifully detailed and layered. The tannins are fine and sensuous, and deeply entwined through a herbal and savoury mid-palate. There is spicy fresh fennel, clove and just a hint of stalky bitterness, all in perfect balance. The finish is very long and quite intense. Just beautiful.

December 4, 2017 - Effusive nose with a knife-edged balanced green vegetal note from the 60% whole bunches, dark berries and smoked meats. Forgotten how it was on the palate, except to say that texturally it was silkier than the Yabby Lake Mornington PN 2016 that was also tasted tonight.

This was consumed warmer than was desirable (probably 20-22 degrees), and that a cooler tasting would have sharpened the aromatics and palate a lot.

October 9, 2016 - Pinotpalooza (Carriageworks, Redfern): stalks again dominate the fruit on the nose but the fruit fights back on the palate with some acidity to support it. I'd like to see this in a few years to see if those stalks integrate. I may have said that about the giant steps wines previously…
