Community Tasting Notes 5

February 10, 2024 - Cloudy, dark red in glass. Quite a funky nose. Palate shows some of that bright florals of poulsard but also some reductive notes. A little hard to fully love, but cool and idiosyncratic as ever.

January 20, 2024 - Pearl of Burgundy Gala Dinner 2024 (Four Seasons Hotel): From a magnum, beautiful strawberry notes, light body with high acid. Good but acid a little piercing at the moment.

January 20, 2024 - Pearl of Burgundy gala dinner: My first Overnoy and unfortunately I don’t understand the hype. Pale, cloudy red in colour. Actually had good depth but the high acidity and natty qualities were too distracting.

December 18, 2022 - Really pretty, floral nose with notes of red cherry, barnyard, and blood orange. The palate has flavors of raspberry, red cherry, herbs, spices, and is light, yet complex with a structural backbone. There is noticeable effervescence on the palate that dissipated with a time in the glass. Long finish. A beautiful wine, perfect to drink right now, but will probably continue to evolve with time. 95+

February 23, 2019 - This was remarkably darker than the usual almost transparent pink, coppery color of this Poulsard in the glass. Touch of fizz on the tongue. There's more density on the palate, but at the expense of some of the florality and lift you usually get from this poulsard. Think this needs at least 4-5 years to unwind.
