September 18, 2023 - Wonderful Burgundy! lithe and yet full of power without being overbearing.
Cherry fruit on the nose but different from the PN's of Oregon which mostly have a touch of ink. Well balanced; good finish and a pleasure to drink!

July 20, 2023 - youngish purple color, peppery and punchy nose, raspberry and clove, on the palate earthy and rich with magnificent depth, black cherry, plums, great length, this is not as muted and difficult to read as the Caillerets but still in need of a good long rest, a really beautiful 2015 and one that should be a real stunner in due course.

July 30, 2022 - Very very tight on opening, so we decanted for an hour and came back later. The wine opened up considerably as a result and was actually very good. Black fruits with minerals, long and clean on the palate. Fine wine, that needs 5+ years to mature before broaching again

December 6, 2018 - Grumpy at first. With air, quite tasty black cherry, dark berry fruit. This note is slightly incomplete as I shared this with a bunch of friends, so I really didn't get to know this bottle as much as I would have liked. I see good upside. 90+

October 9, 2018 - Wine & Spirits Top 100 Tasting: Less aromatic than the 2014 60 ouvres, a bit deeper and richer black fruit; palate is medium bodied, darker fruit; finish is medium length. OK...90

March 3, 2018 - La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Spice notes with loads of red fruit. Bigger, better and even more balanced vs when tasted late 2017. Cellar time will give this 92-93 point potential.

March 3, 2018 - La Paulée de SF Grand Tasting (Fairmont Hotel, SF CA): Once again, classic red cherry, florals and spice but much more intensity here. Dense and expansive. Impressive scale and layering while staying fresh. 93-94+

March 3, 2018 - Fairly rich, dark cherry, lacks some acidity, bit flat overall.

March 3, 2018 - Some Wines from the 2018 La Paulée Grand Tasting of 2015 Burgundy (The Fairmont, San Francisco): Also deep color. Like the Caillerets, ripe but more lift with citrus and powerful acidity. Unending finish. Wow, an outsize Volnay that seemingly has great potential given the extract and quality of the material. I'd take this over the Caillerets due to the zippier acidity, but both left a strongly positive impression.

December 16, 2017 - Pousse d'Or 2015 Lineup (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. Dense red and black cherry aromas/ flavors. On the powerful side for Volnay, less elegant right now. Very long finish. Good upside, 91-92 point potential as it softens.
