June 18, 2018 - I thought this was great and ready to go. Chocolate, nicely caressing tannin with back notes of sous bois, pepper and raspberry. A bit of leather in the finish. I’d drink any time but now is good.

April 30, 2018 - On first opening 5 minutes after decanting this wine was showing some hard wood notes in focused berry nose, but now blackberry rather than youthful blueberry of 10 years ago. The mouth displays polished aromas and smooth Merlot taste with cherry & current notes. Tannins have softened over the last 10 years. The long finish features lean perfumed berries and focused (wood) spice. Since opening three days ago, the wine has held up well, with a still youthful subtle polished balance. It is developing well and for the next 10 years should match up well against most Merlot based wines from Pomerol

September 17, 2017 - Chatham. My last of 4 bottles, and remained quite good. Ripe sweet fruit in 2005 but still classic Bordeaux. Drunk with rack of lamb alongside 2010 Pepe Montepulciano 9thanks Trung), which was even sweeter and riper, and the Vrai Canon Bouche was not put to shame.

July 10, 2016 - Each time I have a bottle it seems more classic and less modern, though certainly still with appealing fruit. B&R enjoyed it greatly with rack of lamb.

April 18, 2016 - Weekly tasting group #210; Bordeaux: the lesser gods. (@ WW): This must be a seriously mistreated bottle. Already far past its peak with lovage, sweet spices, chocolate and coffee. Not any fruits, only tertiary flavors.
