April 22, 2023 - It’s lost it’s bright violet hue, the nose is also softer, but great berry fruits with cola notes. Definitely not young but still some life to it. Ok acidity. Good representation of sonoma pinot

April 16, 2022 - Good. Sour cherry. Opens up nicely after an hour works well with food. Happy with it.

April 12, 2021 - Much more bold than the RN. Big difference between Sonoma and Paso. Goes great with food.

February 24, 2021 - I can see how this wine might be a love/dislike experience. It's the third Benovia Tilton Hill Pinot we've had and we have loved them all. Mainly because of the overt pepper notes. For us it makes the wine unusual and a welcome change of pace. Thanks to OLD GRAY HARE for the notes. Prompted me to pick up at auction.
This has strong white pepper with cherry cola and dark red fruit notes. Give it a slight chill and 30 minutes of air to smooth out the initial assault on the senses.
Somewhat atypical of a Benovia Pinot, not quite as viscous/fruit forward. Based on old CT notes, time in bottle has definitely helped.
Be advised on the pepper thing and avoid if you don't "like-a-da-pepper".

June 10, 2020 - At the tasting room in 2017 one of the staff characterized this wine as a "problem child" because of the white pepper flavor that semed to overwhelm the wine's otherwise typical RRV cola & berry characteristics. Today that pepper presence remains but now seems to be an important actor in tying together a very bright delicious package. This is different enough from the typical RRV flavor profile to be an intriguing variation but remains very recognizable. There is a little mint in both the nose and mid palate. I did not find distracting heat or ETOH. All in all, the few years have been very kind to tis bottle.
