June 28, 2018 - At the winery. Dense aromas of dark fruit of ripe cherries. Very expressive and almost overripe on the nose. None of that impression in the mouth though. Perfect balance with high acidity, ripe and fine tannin and fruit. Long balanced finish with an earthy touch. 93-94p

January 30, 2018 - Tasted alongside Comte Liger Belair Echezeaux '15 and Roumier Bonnes Mares '15 and this one appears less complex and packing less however still great wine indeed. Ripe strawberry, cherry, smoke far back, oak. Very nice texture, integrated tannins. This one too developing very nicely in the glass.

January 18, 2017 - Raspberries on the nose. Well defined fruit on the palate with great balance. Powerful, playful wine.

January 11, 2017 - Burgundy 2015 en primeur (London): Light almost shy nose with elegance. High acidity, elegant and lightweight, with pure red fruit. This is one of the better wines today but a difficult step after the dense, powerful Clos de Beze from Burguets. 91-94p

November 19, 2016 - Tasting Gevrey Chambertin 2015 in Burgundy (Roi Chambertin, Gevrey Chambertin): Could this have been my wine of the tasting? Lovely earthy freshness on the nose. Pleasingly bitter finish – Indian Tonic. There is an orange like freshness. Sticks out in some ways for not being so decadent like many others. Indeed, Swedish wine writer Elke Jung (Vinbanken) said that she found this a bit “too acidic” and that was actually... music to my ears. Folks, this cooler climate Chambertin grand cru perhaps was better suited for the vintage. Other writers, including Bernard Burtschy, counted it as among his overall favorites at the tasting. It certainly left me with a very positive impression: Bravo!
