January 5, 2024 - Compared to the 00 brulees tasted together, this took 1 hour more to open up. When it opened up, it truly soared. Layers and layers of expansive spiced sweet fruits. Has more presence of structure than the brulees, but by no means heavy at all. Very good.

March 4, 2023 - From Cache Cache in aspen and cellared there for the last 18 years. Amazing bottle, deep rich texture, and super long finish. In my list of top five bottles I've ever had.

January 19, 2023 - Drink-the-"2000 Leroy Beaux Monts"-evening-at-Bar-A-Thym. When a friend offers to open a Leroy (Domaine at that) these days, always avail yourself/oneself... Every bit as legendary as Madam's Domaine wines had been (envisioned & tasted to be), this was on fireworks from the get-go. This was very perfumed, with scents of cloves, star-anise, cedar/sandalwood & smoke plus dried-roses & earth intertwined to form a beautiful & engaging bouquet. Just so attractive! Palate didn't disappoint as well - still intense with red-fruits that's ripe, weighty & sweet (but not overly) & wrapped in a most silky texture, this finished long. Only snag was the nose somehow developed (after 35+mins or so in the glass) with a tinge of burnt-wood odour... but this was easily resolved with a small add-on pour from the bottle and a quick swirl. Not too much of a distraction, it was certainly very very good whilst the bottle lasted! Looking forward to my next Domaine Leroy experience...

January 19, 2023 - The one with Madame Leroy (Bar a Thym): Right off the bat, easily the most haunting, sensual and perfumed bouquet I have ever bore witness to. Time stood still for a full minute. Simply sublime with macerated raspberries, five spice, dark cherries, cloves, sandalwood and dried luo han guo skin. Expansive palate showing great core of fruit with a sensual embrace - remarkably fresh for the 2000 vintage, with sweet spices, smoke with some mushrooms and ripe cranberries. Excellent finesse and volume culminating in a silky and graceful finish.

(BEAUX MONTS Leroy) UPDATE: If you’ve received a bounced message from us or a returned email, please re-rend it. Our server was overloaded today! Thank you - have a great weekend! Garagiste **************************** Leroy Dear Friends, We’ve sold two parcels of the wines below over the last 5-6 years and a few more bottles have become available of each - directly from the cellar at Leroy. Both wines have been very popular for vastly different reasons and they represent the opposite end of the spectrum in regard to tannin and structure. This parcel has been resting since release under perfect conditions, directly from the source: 1998 Leroy Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru (IWC91-94) This wine has always amazed Burgundy aficionados since release. The wine continues to show itself as one of the longest lived wines of the 1990s. This wine has the chance to age like the great 1949 or 1959 wines produced by Leroy but it will require another 10 years in the cellar to show what it has. 2000 Leroy Vosne-Romanee les Beaux Monts This wine is really starting to drink well now and it’s become a beautiful example of the Leroy style with gorgeous levels of regal Pinot Noir, spice and rocky terroir enclosed in a velvety glove of pure satin. A top effort that will keep many enthralled with its magic reflection of this vineyard - even in 2000: We have a terrific price on both wines, even lower than in France: ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this price Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Burg9830 Burg9820
