May 29, 2022 - Decanted a couple of hours ahead.

Very fragrant nose, plenty of oak, which gets more integrated with the frut with a bit of time. Plenty of body, a little lacking in depth of palate in comparison to a top Burgundy, but exceedingly creditable for a village wine. Proper Burgundy, the like of which I have not drunk for a long time.

Drank well on day 2 as well, if anything better integrated, but not as highly fragrant as on the first day.

I'm always worried I'm going to be disappointed with Burgundy, that and the price is why this was the last case I bought. I'm glad it is really a satisfying and impressive drink.

I was also worried about whether it would be ready. I think it's ready enough for a first bottle, and I'm looking forward to drinking the rest over the next several years.

September 13, 2018 - HDH auction at Spiaggia (ft. Maison Leroy); 9/13/2018-9/15/2018 (Chicago, IL): Some really nice red fruit on the nose -- a bit crunchy and clearly young. Sweet and ripe, with a structure that doesn't seem too firm. A little soft on the palate; this is an easier, fleshy wine, and good for easy drinking. If I have to guess, not one for longer term drinking, but pleasant enough for now.
