February 12, 2024 - Burgundies, Blanc et Rouges (Sta. Rita Hills, CA): Served double blind. A bit of a vexing bottle, seemingly fairly young based on appearance and taste, with notes muted green apples and saline, but at the same time lacking brightness and acidity -- not quite flabby, but missing some expected freshness. When revealed, the owner indicated that the cork had been thoroughly saturated, so I would deem this an "affected" bottle. While it did improve a bit when revisited during dinner, it never really soared.

January 1, 2024 - A New Year: Medium gold color, a big rich chard. with enticing fruity nose. Soft and smooth mouth feel. Rich riper fruit -almost sweet. Delicious.

January 1, 2024 - 2023 New Years Eve: More impressive than a bottle 2 years ago. It's hard for me to describe this chardonnay because it is well integrated and suave, kind of everything you want in a chardonnay, just a bit understated. Lively, rich and round, but mostly elegant.

December 31, 2023 - New Years Eve (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Light medium gold color. Drank a glass over 90 minutes. Lean, almond cream, slate, a bit oxidative, lemon. Good, but not what I expected from it. Did not age well over the next few days.

December 31, 2023 - 2023 New Years Eve Celebration! (Kevin's House): This was a very nice wine and a great follow up to the 2018 Dauvissat Petit Chablis.

The nose was very Chablis like with citrus (mostly lime zest) with lots of flint and steely minerality notes. The palate was surprisingly creamy and nice, starting with pear and poached apple (including a subtle sweetness), then building up to some flinty notes with a slightly bitter chalky taste (but not in a negative way...was actually a nice contrast), and finishing with some noted of sweet toasty oak. A very nice Bourgogne that showed the fruit and terroir quite well, IMO. 93+ for my palate and very enjoyable!
