February 15, 2020 - Just a really good claret for the money. The Cru Bourgeois come into their own in the top vintages and 2016 Beaumont doesn’t disappoint.

Nice layers of leather, mint, spice and dark red fruit on the nose and well rounded tannins on the palate. It’s an 88 point wine with an extra point for quality / price ratio.

Will grace any Sunday lunch table

February 12, 2020 - There is so much to be said for a perfectly adequate claret at a reasonable price. QED .
It is not a superstar , and it is a little marmaladey , but it also has a lot of good points; it is generous , fruity, and with a decent backbone. All in all a pretty decent if unsurprising effort.

January 15, 2020 - An exceptionally nice inexpensive Bordeaux and that is a rarity. Good fruit, very fine tannins and a decent structure. For $17 a winner for an every day wine.

December 19, 2019 - I'm astounded at how this wine has evolved in just the past three months. It seems to have knit together from disparate parts like a broken bone healing itself. The fruit is foremost now, with lovely intense cassis with a tangy cranberry note in the background, and the tannins have formed into a harmonious supporting cast. It's now rather enjoyable. Naturally, this evolution has manifested itself just as I'm down the my last bottle.

If I had more, I would drink within the next year, but who knows where this could end up?

December 11, 2019 - This wine has improved significantly in just the past few months. The tannins have softened, and it has developed a rounder, more balanced mouthfeel. I would expect this to drink well over the next couple years.
