March 30, 2013 - Coq au Vin Jaune (NYC): This wine reminded me of some of the best older fino sherry. Nuttiness everywhere on the nose and palate, with a really powerful saline streak in the mouth. Delicious stuff.

November 10, 2012 - Dinner at Nathan's House (Nathan's House - Chicago, IL): A thrilling wine from start to finish. Its aromas were incredibly pure with lemons, roasted nuts, spice, and herbs. The flavors on the palate were really something with vivid lemon, peach, pear, herbs, and spices. Rich and complex, this just kept evolving in the glass. Would love to track a bottle like this over a week or so.

July 5, 2012 - A Texan comes to town and we gather at a new hot spot in Jersey City. (Thirty Acres): Like dry Sherry, Vin Jaune is an acquired taste and it's one I probably won't ever acquire. Oxidative with the addition of a fish sauce note. Extremely sharp and lean. Not for me. C-.
