Community Tasting Notes 10

February 4, 2013 - - Brick color and aromas of prune and cedar and has flavours of black pepper, dusty, prune and black currant with a full body. Smooth texture with a long finish - A beautiful example of what the Veneto has to offer. Full, complex, concentrated fruits with sage, currant, and black pepper. Spice and cedar resonate. I loved it! Drinking well now.

June 4, 2012 - Fanfucktingastic, just like the previous bottle four years ago. It grew up since then, though. Drank alongside primavera pastageddon tonight. Lively black juice and firm cedar box with jovial gravitas. A memorable bottle.

December 25, 2011 - Christmas in Maryland for George's 87th: elegant, licorice and dark fruit flavors. ****

December 28, 2009 - Dark fruits and liquorice on the nose. Rich dusty black fruit on the palate with hints of liquorice, cedar and toast. Savoury. Still quite a bit of tannin though softening. Initially thought fruit might be fading quickly given the vintage, however, the wine opened up nicely in the glass. Exceptional length. Drinking well now.

May 10, 2009 - Lovely wine. Smooth, well-integrated tannins, with notes of leather, dark fruit, and a hint of anise. Enjoyed with friends, and a fantastic pairing for the homemade lasagna.
