Community Tasting Notes 7

May 1, 2017 - Weekly tasting group RWP #255: Every taster brought a flight. No rules. (@ My place): I waited too long with this bottleā€¦ In the bouquet plums, tea, tobacco and soy. The bouquet is too old. And then surprisingly enough, on the palate the wine is still a great pleasure. A lot of sweetness, dark chocolate, raisins and figs. Good acidity and the tannin has a mature, but still soft and pleasant bite.

April 11, 2012 - Drinking beautifully now. There was a slight funk on the nose, but it wasn't intrusive. Beautiful soft fruit, fully integrated. Undertones of earthy leather. Medium bodied, lots of subtle complexity. Fairly log finish.

November 11, 2009 - Monthly Tasting Group HWS #041; Syrah/Shiraz (By me): As previous notes. Brought it to a tasting. Have to keep my last bottle until at least 2013.

July 11, 2009 - Regular dinner group (@ PZ): Two years after my previous note the wine is still much too young. The dark chocolate is still prominent. This enormously concentrated wine can use at least another 2 - 3 years of cellaring.

May 26, 2008 - Dark garnet color. The nose has raspberry, strawberry, and charcoal. The palate is medium to full, with juicy raspberry, leather, and a bit of vanilla. Very nice with good balance, long pleasant finish.
