A heavy emphasis on France and, within that, Burgundy. Burgundy it had to be for both gastronomic and emotional reasons. Happily my eye fell upon this village Pommard. Maybe a tad young but it met the criteria of the meal. A fine clear ruby with a nice floral/spicy aroma. On the palate a good balance of fruit predominantly cherry and acidity, a slightly stemmy quality, some baking spice, slight tannins.

  November 3, 2019 - Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Walk around tasting. More black vs red cherry comes across as big and meaty, slightly firm in the middle right now. Very good density for its level.
  Third consecutive year I've enjoyed this wine at this tasting, probably better now vs previous years. Glad to have some in the cellar. 89-90 point potential, 2022 forward.

  November 11, 2018 - Knightsbridge Annual Holiday Burgundy/Champagne Tasting and Sale (Northbrook, IL): Tasting, brief note. Ripe black and red cherry, slightly backward and brooding (vs when tasted a year ago) but with very good length and weight. Better to cellar a few more years, 88-89+ point potential.
