Community Tasting Notes 3

  • ONEFIVE Likes this wine:

April 14, 2022 - A fairly concentrated expression of red burgundy.
Deep red cherry, ripe cranberry, and some red apple skin with earthy floral elements.
On the palate, this is taught, with a concentrated core of red fruit, grippy tannin and bright acidity.
My gut tells me this will be better in time. It’s intense on almost all angles right now. Hold for at least another 5 years.

January 28, 2018 - 70 yaer old vines but otherwise everything wine making is the same at the winery. Fermentation in concrete, native yeast, no stems, no new oak.

Tons of mineral spice character on it. Medicinal cherry fruit. Great palate weight and drive and energy. Tightly focused on the back.

November 16, 2017 - Annual Roi Chambertin tasting: 2016 Gevreys from village to grand cru (Espace Chambertin, Bourgogne): Juicy, yet intense, too. Almost warm, but there is verve and good fun to this wine which has fine mid palate substance.
