    February 7, 2019 - A Range of 2016 Bruno Clair Wines (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Medium, clear ruby. Complex, inviting aromas of herb, berry, and earth. Light to medium weight, spherical harmonious feel that fans out on the palate. Subtle, complex, long, and regal. Wonderfully resonant berry fruit. Showing unbelievably well now, but I have to believe that this has the stuffing and balance to go on for decades. Absolutely outstanding and it demonstrates how much the best Gevrey Grand Crus can pack into deceptively light frames.

    February 4, 2019 - Dark, powerful and yet wonderfully seductive aromas with concentrated red berries, light smoke and touch of animal tones. Lovely complex and rich wine. Provides lots of deliciously concentrated fruit feeling and gives a nicely more powerful expression of red berries, soils and neat wood. A little rustic feeling of the tannins, but it builds the wine for a long life in the cellar. Great wine. 95 points.

Starts with good concentration, finishes with even more. So long and nuanced already. While enticing now, this also needs a decade in the cellar to fully strut its stuff. 95+ point potential, 2026-.

    November 16, 2017 - Annual Roi Chambertin tasting: 2016 Gevreys from village to grand cru (Espace Chambertin, Bourgogne): Sure, it is marked by the oak but the finish displays lift and juiciness. Indeed this is lovely: just give it time!
