February 17, 2024 - Another excellent example of YY! I’ve reviewed their wines a few time and I’ve drunk over a dozen bottles…I’ve never been close to disappointment. Cornas with a distinctive minty, eucalyptus twist that affirms its new world influence.

March 10, 2023 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of deep ruby colour, with fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of black fruit of blackcurrant and dark cherries, red fruit of ripe plum, floral notes of perfume, oak notes of vanilla, pungent spice of black pepper, maturity notes of savoury, kernel notes of dark chocolate, sweet spice of fresh thyme. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium (+) alcohol, full body, with medium (+) intensity flavours of black fruit of blackberry and dark cherries, red fruit of plum, sweet spice of thyme, kernel notes of chocolate, oak notes of vanilla. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Yarra Valley red with the unique blend giving nicely intense and complex aromas, with the fragrance of perfume on top of red and black fruit, lots of spice and some development. On the palate the wine has robust structure, powerful but pleasant, with good tannin and concentration of flavours, finishing with a fairly long length. It is ready to drink now but can benefit from further ageing of another 4-6 years.

May 9, 2022 - Outstanding. Still very young - I will try to wait at least a year before trying the next one. But has such an elegant feel and opens wonderfully. Blackberry and black currant, tight acidity, maybe some eucalyptus in the middle, puckeringly tart finish. Delicious and will only get more so.

December 2, 2021 - Grand Cru Shiraz (The four seasons hotel, the rocks, sydney): Medium minus intensity aromas of black hued fruit ,blackberry, sweet spice, slightly sour notes; like red berry and redcurrant, a smidge of jubeyness and a touch of plums. Juicy, fleshy, slightly sour fruit, alcohol warmth, medium minus intensity chalky tannins persist beneath the sour fruit. Meh.

July 22, 2020 - Gourmet Traveller wine Victorian Shiraz (Winespace, Surry Hills): Polished oak, blackberry, a little plum and black cherry, touch of chocolate. Feels quite extracted compared to other wines in this bracket. Equally polished oak and concentrated black fruits on the palate, chalky drying tannins. Long. Good but not for me.
