September 3, 2020 - Académie des Cinquante Burgundy Tasting (Online): The house style at Verdet is always elegant and precise, and it shows to great effect in this wine. The terroir high up the hill is reflected in the cool and minerally core of the wine, the oak is only just noticeable, the complex aromas of fruit (ranging from peach to black cherry), flowers (roses and violets) and Asian spices are very pure and expressive, the palate is fresh and flowing and elegant, the tannins are finely chiselled, and resonance and length are exceptional. Beautifully made and already shining. Star quality.

The absolute star of the Verdet show today, intense and elegant, wonderful fruit and floral fragrance, cool minerality supported by warmth from the wood, wonderful Asian spice box, hint of vanilla, silky and harmonious, layered and playful, relaxed and energetic, hints of rose and peach, beautifully balanced with just the right level of tannic grip. Will be delightful young and old.

January 8, 2018 - Another step up compared to the V-R villages tasted before. A bit more of everything, but also finer, more precise. Wonderful minerality, ripe tannins, great length. Excellent. 93-94+
