October 13, 2020 - WSET Teaching Level 4 for Northern Rhone (Stellenbosch): Deep purple. Lifted and seductive aromas of violet, cracked pepper, ripe black fruit, some marinated cherry and quite a bit of spicy oak. As opens show dark chocolate. Youthful and no stem notes to speak of.
Superb definition on the palate this is a full-bodied, powerful Cornas with excellent concentration, supple acidity and dense, austere tannins. Wonderful breadth to the mid-palate this is a big wine but has a chunkiness that works so well as the tannins do build. A fragrant lift complements blackberry, dark 90% Lindt Chocolate and fruit cake, keeping it seductive and super appealing. A long, winding finish - excellent but would benefit from more time in bottle.1 person found this helpful Comment -

June 26, 2020 - Restrained nose of ripe red fruit. Lean and austere in the mouth, savoury. Noticeable grippy tannins. Good balance and length. 92+, will benefit from more ageing
