July 9, 2021 - brilliant. rounded body and soft marshmellow like texture, bright acidity and fresh yellow apple and white [each notes. no signs of ageing, per se, mostly just an integration of textures and flavors. beginning to show at peak now

June 8, 2019 - Nahe^3: 10 vintages of Halenberg, Hermannshöhle and Felseneck + X (@Private location, Frankfurt): *** brief note from an extensive tasting ***
    Glass: Gabriel Gold
Tasted blind. Bottle opened about 2-4h before, double decanted before serving.
Pirate. Very similar to the Schönleber Halenberg, maybe a bit more tension. Also lots of ripe fruit and a beautiful mineral core. Drink now. 92-93

    May 17, 2018 - Magnum...

    Yellow, very healthy colour

Only hints of petroleum on the nose, mainly white peach with good minerality

Quite fruity on the palate, rich with a good structure.

Very good GG riesling, still some years away from the top

March 3, 2018 - Henry Comes to Tucson: 2001 Tuscany night (Tucker household): A slate and mineral driven nose, with some kaffir lime, fruit pit, but mostly rocks. On the plate, it has power with grace. The acidity, mineral, and less so fruit are all balanced wonderfully, and this some across as quite deft and fresh. Clean and pure. A serious wine drinking at early peak. Delicious.

(Schafer-Frohlich Monziger Halenberg Grosses Gewachs) Maybe the best dry wine made in Germany in 2005. At least the most memorable for my palate. This is like Tim's Les Clos. Incredibly deep nose of mineral and juicy ripe fruit. Again so pure with thet delicate rainwater haging over the nose. Like it is raining in the glass. Extremely concentrated and just a big wow in the mouth. This wine has everything and is my benchmark for the GG category. Ripe, elegant, incredibly concentrated, long, insanely complex, easy to drink and very evocative of place. Just a great wine.
