March 29, 2019 - Mostly 2016 Volnay Flight (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Clear light ruby. Fruit is more mixed than in the VV, but this still has some of that Savigny briary character on the nose. Wonderful sand/clay base and rounder feel than the prior wine, some subtle sweetness, ripe tannins. Lovely and very approachable, not to mention enjoyable, now. No glitz or wood make up here.

January 30, 2019 - There’s 50% whole bunch here. It has a very pretty nose of violets, red berry and cherry. It is fine and minerally in the mouth, possessing beautiful balance and proportion.
