March 16, 2019 - Straight forward Sangiovese, well made, bright fruit, nice depth, good acidity.

Medium (+) intensity on the nose with aromas of dried cherry, red plum, wet leaf, savoury. Well-defined.
Dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium (+) tannins which are ripe and grippy, medium (+) bodied. Medium (+) flavour intensity with flavours of dried red cherry, red plum, cinnamon bark, star anise, cedar, wet leaf, savoury, soy. Medium(+) finish.
Very good quality. The despite the high levels of acidity, the mouthfeel of the wine is smooth and harmonious, with the acidity supporting the good concentration of flavours which show a good level of complexity from multiple clusters and continue to a reasonably long finish. The wine shows excellent typicity with red fruits and grippy but not harsh tannins. It is already quite developed and does not have the depth and concentration to age further as this risks losing the remaining fruit. It is suitable to drink now, not suitable for further ageing.

A really nice example of the region. Extremely drinkable without sacrificing identity.
