May 27, 2022 - Marries weight and finesse, apple and lemon curd, hint of tropical fruit, floral lift, perfectly integrated oak, excellent overall harmony, elegant rather than powerful, beautifully constructed, everything in place, silky and seamless, expansive finish, excellent length. A subtle rendition of the Bâtard theme, quite an intellectual wine. At restaurant La Cabane, Chassagne-Montrachet, France.

July 29, 2021 - Medium nose intensity with notes of cream, mineral, flora, lemon. High acidity and long finish. A very well make white burgundy. Drinking well now actually but will improve with age.

January 21, 2020 - We drank five 2016 white burgundies, single blind, with the Tucson tasting group. Somehow the Ramonet Batard came in last in a tightly bunched great group. I ranked it second, but with three last place votes (out of 8) this dropped to the bottom in the consensus. I love everything about this wine now, and it will only get better from here.

May 10, 2019 - Trio of 2016 Ramonet. The Batard was impressive out of the gates, and was the ultimate favorite of half the team tonight. Very impressive. The Bienvenues was floral, lovely, unique. The Montrachet showed depth, class, richness, and in the end was my favorite. A gorgeous trio shows how great the 2016 vintage is and will be for white burgundy.

April 15, 2019 - Les Gobeloteurs Tasting (Domaine Stéphane Ogier - Ampuis): Tasting, brief note. Lush and ripe apple and apricot with floral, mint and spice throughout. Excellent density, even for Grand Cru, with structure that easily keeps this in balance. Very good now, with great 94-95 point potential.
