February 3, 2024 - Bring a Great Nebbiolo (Chez Goldberg, Greenwich Village, NYC): [Double-decanted around 3pm.] Huge nose of ripe black fruit. Still quite backward at this stage. Loads of black fruit and structure. Needs another 5 years at least.

January 12, 2024 - No notes, just a few thoughts from memory. 2 hours in the decanter. Fabulous nose, traditional and rustic. Dark fruit, rosehip, tar, leather, dried roses. Lots of complexity, and finesse too.
The palate is in perfect balance, in a very good spot right now. Some menthol. Structure for further cellaring but I’m not disappointed at all at opening this today.
Perhaps bulls eye lies somewhere 5-10 years on but the advantage of cellaring isn’t huge imo. Brilliant Barolo.1 person found this helpful Comment -

September 14, 2022 - In a great place at the moment. Juicy, balanced and a very welcome change for a Bordeaux/Brunello drinker like myself. Good on day one, fabolous on day 2. Tannins mellow, nose of raspberries and some flowery elements. The palate has just the right amount of sweetness. A certain "light-footed" character that in conjunction with the aromatic presence of this wine makes this a pleasure to drink. Glad I have a few more bottles to play around with.
