November 25, 2023 - Kraters for the trenchermen (Les 2 Garçons): An unusual celeriac note on the nose, then more traditionally creamy and tropical. Young and with a touch of spritz. Very elegant and pleasing on the palate, vivacious fruit and a bright finish. So tasty and seductive - effortlessly enjoyable.

August 30, 2023 - Brilliant. Very intense and tropical nose that keeps you coming back! The palate is rich and sweet but so beautifully balanced by the acidity that it feels delicate and light on its feet. Finish is very long. 95 but I think this will go higher. Need to buy more!

July 9, 2020 - bright young lemon color, assertive rich nose of peach, pear and a hint of tropical fruits, hints of violets around the edges, on the palate at first a wine of great force and heft- as are so many 2017s, with 3 hours of airing it become delectably elegant without sacrificing any of its persistence or power, honey notes now, blood orange, rose petals, a certain serene feeling in contrast to the power imparted by the vintage, water worn white pebble notes wrapped in sweet citrus fruit, fine long finish with firm acids completely coated in honey, as Mosel wines go this is decidedly in the Prum and Muller camp where finesse and tranquility take precedence over the fiery textures subtly woven into the great wines of Schaefer and von Schubert, this has become so calm that one could easily underestimate its future, 18 hours later - the nose is more precisely defined now with hints of mineral zest and candied lemon peel around a potent cry of honey-coated oranges, on the palate rose petal notes and ripe succulent wedges of blood orange ready to burst from their skins, the acids are more evident now and quite strong- though in their proper place, very long fragrant finish, the great future potential is now more easily seen.

June 7, 2018 - [18 18] Tasted after Helden non-GK. 30-40% botrytised grapes. Rich, spicy, really dense with wonderful weight. The acidity lifts all that richness, the dark minerality adds an extra dimension of complexity. The vibrancy and lift towards the persistent finish is amazing. Fantastic! 95-96+

May 10, 2018 - Mosel Trip 2018; 5/10/2018-5/11/2018 (Mosel Region): More obviously sweet than NH Auslese. Some botrytis but not a huge amount. Acid drive.
