January 1, 2024 - Not ready yet. Very strange place.

March 5, 2023 - Fregrant, aromatic wine with berries and then developed into mixed of rose and mixed of different flowers. It is a very intense wine with a lot of potential with long finishing. Will become much better in a few years.

October 16, 2021 - I really love the 2017 vintage in Burgundy, the wines are not super dense but hedonistically they deliver. This is the case here, the wine is open for business - seems that the reduction found by other folks here is now resolved, with rather opulent blue fruited pinot scents. The mouth is surprisingly sweet, with good minerals and very good energy. It is not fluid but it is not super dense either. It will be better in 5 years, but can be drunk now. It did improve after three hours. Damodes is touching les Hauts de Malconsorts, it is an uphill wine with a plump softness, very Vosne in character in 2017. (There is even a plot at the village level in Vosne called 'damaudes' above, so the border between Nuits and Vosne seems porous to me)

Faiveley is on a roll, the quality has increased. The style is ripe and opulent, with gentle extractions, and the wood treatment is more refined and subtle than it was in the past. The winemaker's choice for this wine is to deliver early pleasure and drinkability, a good candidate for a restaurant wine list. Good value here, and a no brainer, giving immediate pleasure...As all drama free experiences are, you should not expect too much character or complexity...

April 19, 2019 - 2018 Visit to Domaine Faiveley (Nuits St. Georges): Moving to barrels, we started with the 2017 Damodes. A good introduction to what was described, for reds, as an "open, accessible vintage" at Faiveley. A musky, perfumed, red berried and floral nose. On palate, after a little barrel-related spritz, fruit forward. Bright raspberry, red cherry and other, largely, red fruit, soil and little spice. Elegant, lighter bodied and available.
