March 6, 2024 - Deep cherry to a hint of ruby. Dense nose, glossy loganberry and redcurrant fruit with a hint of blueberry and a sense of something slightly more reductive. Densely silky on the attack and mid-palate, nicely bright with a squeeze of orange on the finish. Mid length. Good energy. Very moreish. Certainly more consistent with previous bottles than Monday’s. Very drinkable indeed. ****

March 5, 2024 - Jason & Simon's Village Burgundy Tasting Dinner (67 Pall Mall): Seems balanced between an almost glossy fruitiness and a borderline animale earthiness. The indecision itself is somehow exciting, especially as we get towards the home straight, but if I owned these I'd love to see how they develop over the next few years - will it hold it together or resolve into one of the aspects of its character?

March 4, 2024 - Village Burgundy from Good Producers (67 Pall M): Cherry sherbet nose on pouring. Takes a while to settle down. A bit of VA. Palate has good but not overpowering acidity. Improves with air and a certain pleasant meatiness emerges but this not really my bag.

March 4, 2024 - Jason's Village Burgundies II (67 Pall Mall): Dark red. Funky and meaty, dirty in a good way. Some confected glossy fruit notes places this wine on the high-toned end. High acidity quite dominant over the fruit at the moment, I think this one could be hidden away for a few years to calm down a bit, a bit wayward tonight.

March 4, 2024 - Village Burgundy: Dense ruby. A touch high toned. Nicely ripe with some density and a savoury edge. Getting more savoury as it ages and it has now lost some of its attractive youthful gloss. Note quite as together as previously. A little here and there, though for my palate better than some would suggest.***1/2
