June 17, 2021 - Initially awkward - whiffs of spicy smoke and cherry but was expecting more and was light bodied on the palate. Clearly needed some airtime which i estimated to be around 30mins in the glass which it did, but it really came together on the 45-50 minute mark when this baby opened up and started to sing! Aromas intensified into a primary nose of smokey bacon and the tannins were perfectly integrated. It was so silky and smooth on the palate and with a decent length finish. So easy to drink and yet had complexity and drank well into the end after 1.5 hours. Small amount of sediment at the base. This is my second bottle and has been consistent. Excellent value.

March 11, 2021 - Chambolle Southside 1er (Zoom / Chicago): Next to the 05 Amoureuses and 09/10 Haut Doix. Magical and enticing nose with rich cherry, spice, florals and smoke. Thrilling palate with powerful raspberry and strawberry that has so much energy and brightness. Delicious now with structure yet to resolve - perhaps even better in 5 years.
This was so good and no slouch in an exceptional flight.

March 11, 2021 - Chambolle Musigny "Southside" 1er Cru Tasting (Chicagoland IL): In Groffier Hauts-Doix vertical with a 2005 Amoureuses kicker. Also very bright, but a slight awkwardness that took its time to dissipate. Very dense and powerful, this didn't have the grace and balance of the Amoureuses, but shared the same basic profile. Even better tonight vs when last tasted 3+ years ago. Just not as great as the 2010.
