February 26, 2022 - In the two years since my previous bottle, this has lost a bit of vibrancy but has acquired greater seamlessness and mature charm in its fruit and balsamic and spice sprinkled complexity. Very good.

November 8, 2020 - High Steaks Saturday: Yum. Popped and poured after the Montrose 78 had vanished, because I wanted something to go with cheese. Was not embarrassed by the comparison - poised, well put together - a thoroughly decent wine and great value for money.

October 25, 2020 - This is drinking brilliantly at the moment. Tasted next to some chateauneufs of the same sort of age at 3-4 times the price and was at least their equal. Lots of black fruit, tannins have softened but still provide excellent structure. Very smooth and with lots of freshness (I think probably showing the limestone). Wonderful with roast beef. £20 is an absolute bargain for this.

February 17, 2020 - This is one of the best I have had from Roussillon. A GSM blend with 60% Syrah and expressive on both nose and palate, it was quite full bodied showing a delightfully bright balsamic and varnish edge to its complex dark plum tinged fruit, hints of lavender, tobacco and chocolate, good depth and suave texture together with good balancing acidity and firmness on the finish. It was a perfect match for rich boeuf bourguignon. Very good.

November 10, 2019 - Colour: dark cherry red
Nose: plum, black cherry, cassis, cranberry, pomegranate. Black tea. Dark, smokey. Sweet spice, old oak. Dry. Leathery, earthy. Touch of green peppercorn.
Palate: cranberry, pomegranate, cassis, maybe black cherry. Savoury, dry. Black fruit. Smokey, earthy, leathery. Black tea. Sweet spice, some old oak. Fresh berry like acidity; moderate, drying, black tea like tannins, which are quite structural. Savoury, dry, quite medium bodied; very unlike an Australian Shiraz-Grenache-Mourvèdre. Really lovely. 14% alcohol. Seal: natural cork.
