July 12, 2023 - Burg vs Barolo Night (Meatsmith Telok Ayer): Pale garnet. Cherry, herbs, and straw on the nose. Mouthwatering acids, and some bite on the tannins, with a sense of juiciness in the fruit flavours, then herbs, pepper, nutmeg, then drying tar on the back. It's textbook Nebbiolo no doubt, but seems lacking in terms of character, certainly not at the quality expected of Barolo

June 3, 2022 - Alluring nose on this. Sweet cherry, perfumed, viognier!?, flowers, Black Forest gateaux, balsamic, dark cherry. Soft and polished on the palate. Lacks some fruit in the mid-palate but nice velvety, Mouth-coating tannin on a long-finish. This was probably best after popping and pouring so really don’t think it has the stuffing for much aging but fascinating style. Would really like to try in a good vintage.
