October 6, 2021 - A morning business meeting in Baltimore transitioned brilliantly to great lunch at Petite Louis - a favorite in Roland Park. The 2017 Gour de Chaulé "Cuvée Tradition" Gigondas jumped out at me on the list despite this village not being my usual lunchtime steez. Glad I did though because it danced elegantly with the steak frites and the house terrine of foie gras. Black currants, raspberry, strawberry, anise and pepper notes in a smooth, silky mouthfeel wine that is light on its feet for lunch yet delivers the goods in pairing with a hearty meal. Decided to check bottle variation so ordered a second. All good. -DD93

July 16, 2021 - Grenache dominant GSM. Some pleasant savoriness liked more than 2016 in vertical

June 22, 2021 - Solid gigondas with nice core of fruit, licorice, minerality...
Quite a nice QPR that puts a lot of other wines to shame...
Could see others rating this a touch higher..

May 21, 2021 - Medium bodied, traditional style. Beautiful blue and red berries on the nose. Palate refined and lively - continues fruit, garrigue, herbs, fine tannins, and solid length.

Reading the reviews here, guess I got a "clean" bottle. While excellent and a value, I found this a little generic, and unexpressive of winemaker or terroir. But that's especially hard to find at $30 USD on release.
