Community Tasting Notes 6

May 1, 2012 - A pleasant surprise. Very lively pinot with red and blue fruit. Midpalate there is pink and green peppercorns with a gamey undertone. A lot going on in this wine.

October 20, 2009 - It was a dark, peppery, Syrah, typical of the Rhone in many ways, but of course from California. Black fruit predominates. Earthy notes are there though, and I believe their notes that call out black olive as well. Medium body, seemed very hot! About $48.

January 23, 2009 - Dark red. Broad shouldered pinot with ripe fruit and medium mouth feel. Drinking well now with no signs of slowing down.

November 30, 2007 - Blind California Pinot Noir Tasting (Gary's House in Lisle, IL): Sight: Deep Purple color.
Smell: The nose was intense and complex. Fruit forward but in such a refined and elegant way. Very interesting. All the cherry you’d expect and so many other components it was impossible to identify them all.
Taste: The flavors were equally complex and elegant. Intense cherry fruit flavors and some tannins filled the mouth and mid palate.
Notes: Exceptional wine. Will age, drinking fine now. Best of the night.

November 30, 2007 - Blind Cali Pinot night (Lisle(gary's house)): extremely dark color

nose: huge jammy nose. extremely complex with some cola, nutty tones, floral notes, and sour cherry.

taste: big mouth feel with sour cherry, hazelnut, and big jammy red fruit

overall: big time wine. Finish dissapates a bit fast unfortunetly. Still this is a really good wine
