May 5, 2019 - Priorat wine fair 2019 (and related events); 5/2/2019-5/9/2019 (Tarragona and various places in Priorat): The stall of Celler de Capҫanes was very interesting. The winery produces four different types of grenache wines all from different kinds of soil. Firstly we tasted wine from clay soil (argila) then we had a sip of a wine from slate soil (llicorella). There was also a version from chalky soil (calissa) and finally a wine from sandy soil (panal). All the bottles were magnums. Impressive. The soil was clearly affecting the taste as the wines tasted very differently. Some more rustic than the others other more acidic and so on. Not very big wines but clearly well made.
