April 13, 2024 - Nice! Maybe veering towards excessive va. But stays on the right side of it.

May 15, 2023 - 2nd of 12. I think my earlier 95 point review was a bit inflated for this. That being said, this is utterly delicious and has a lot of life left. I had it a few days after having the '16 Pino Ovello, which had a bit more lift and freshness compared to this. But this stands nicely on its own, with a lot of body and ripe fruit. The tannins are a bit drying on the finish, but I think with more time in the cellar with will be a delight.

September 28, 2021 - mild nose, some earth, some fresh green pepper and wood; not super complex but tasty, tannins but not too early and keep building... doesnt have any earthy notes that my favorite nebbiolos do

August 3, 2021 - Tasted blind. This wine is quite tannic, particularly in comparison to the fruit weight. It tastes slightly like aged balsamic vinegar. I associate these two characteristics with Italian winemaking practices. I smell smoky prunes, licorice, and roses. It is a pleasant and pretty wine, despite the rough tannins. Although I associate nebbiolo with red fruit, I have no better guess than Barolo or Barbaresco, about 8 years old. Plenty of room for this wine to improve with age. Rating: 93

February 12, 2021 - I thought this was rather simple and flat day one, not really unfolding. But young, off course. Marginally better day two but not convinced about the quality here. Very nice tannin though, rather fine-grained. Hold 3/5 yrs for nxt bottle.
