September 24, 2023 - 2 hr decant. A symphony playing in perfect harmony. Spice box, dried rose petal, and tangerine peel float on raspberry, plumb, and a kiss of black pepper and bacon fat on the finish. Excellent.

June 4, 2023 - Bacon fat, leather on the nose. Makes it seem older than it really is. Fruit is intense. Blood orange, blackberry, minerality. Very interesting. Enjoy.

January 26, 2023 - A mouthful of dark berries, hints of mocha, grilled beef with a tinge of bacon. Holy cow is this fantastic! The mid-palate is multilayered notes of gravel, whiffs of cherry juice and iodine with plenty of room to develop more nuance in the future. Shazaam! Magic in a glass.

April 19, 2022 - First of these we've tried, tasted over two nights, compared it with 2018 Liminal GSM and 2019 Liminal High Contrast Syrah. We liked the Cayuse much better than either of those. The En Cerise is dark garnet-purple, opaque, with very pronounced aromas similar to Guigal's single vineyard Cote Roties...roasted meat, bacon fat, plums, black cherries, hint of mocha, already complex. The flavors are rich, viscous, and concentrated without being a "fruit bomb". The balance is perfect, with good acidity and tannin in the background, allowing the fruit to predominate. Sweet black fruit flavors. The first night there was some bitterness when first opened, which lasted a couple of hours then blew off. There was none on the second night.
I am amazed how drinkable Cayuse syrahs are even soon after they arrive. I usually drink them 8-10 years old but occasionally drink a young one and am never disappointed.

March 26, 2022 - Seriously delicious; voluptuous mouthfeel, with very pronounced dark berry components...just a hint of the olive/tapenade. No funk that I could discern. Some menthol on the nose, but quite approachable.
