February 17, 2021 - Gevrey: Combottes 1er Cru and Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru (Chicago + Zoom): Very big and bold aromas of black cherry and meat. The palate packs so much power in a classy and restrained frame. The structure still needs time to soften and integrate, but its already silky in nature. Such a harmonious wine. Upside as this develops nuance.

February 17, 2021 - Gevrey-Chambertin Neighbors: Combottes 1er Cru and Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru (Chicagoland IL): Opened a few hours before serving. Dense black fruit and meat, tightly packed and gazed us you with unwelcome eyes, but so much here. 91 points by the end of tonight, 91-92 point potential.

June 16, 2019 - Intense nose of cherry cola, fresh flowers, spice and crushed rocks. The color is pretty dark like most 05's. Lots of concentration on the palate but not overpowering. Very much in balance at the moment with plenty of room for improvement.

July 26, 2012 - 2005 Burgundy Nite (Dino): Pitch-black fruit complexion, a sharp contrast to the red-fruited Chaffots, and also easier to drink than the Chaffots as it was just a bit more saturating and less boxy. The acid was as much of a factor as the tannin in the structure here which made this a nicely linear Lignier.
