September 7, 2021 - We had a tasting at the winery, and overall, for me, though the wines were obviously noble and good, overall I was not super-impressed, so possibly just not my kind of winery. Certainly I will not pay the prices they demand for this level of quality.

Now to this wine; it has more acidity and maybe a bit more fruit than the Schieferterassen from the same vintage. My friend (a much more casual wine drinker) argued the acidity is in fact too high and thus didn't really like it. To me, this is a nice, noble, enjoyable wine, although I still miss any kind of meaningful aftertaste.

Nice, but again 24 EUR for this is far off the curve - this is a 14-15 EUR wine in a Mosel context; the rest one pays for the name.

Strong 88p or lower end of 89p.

October 4, 2020 - Weingut Heymann-Löwenstein: The sound of slate with Sarah Löwenstein (Zoom!): Single vineyard above a church. 50yo vines, south-facing, 70 degree slope.

Honeysuckle on the nose, and a promise of something exotic - obviously not austere or particularly mineral - so stereotypically 2018. Lots of energy on the palate, with exotic fruit, mint leaves and a limey core. Charming and welcoming.
