May 1, 2024 - Bouteille 2/6. Bouchon en parfait état. Robe légèrement dorée, encore claire. Nez discret. En bouche toujours cette tension et cette acidité qui font que je le trouve encore très jeune. A l’aération le vin s’est un peu ouvert, on sent qu’il commence tout juste à gagner en complexité. A attendre encore un peu.

March 13, 2024 - Meet the winemaker - MDDG with Samuel Guibert (WSET Bermondsey): Field blend; everything co-fermented using indigenous yeasts for circa one month. Pumping over for four to five days of this in oxygen-rich environment. No oak; all stainless steel. No malo, to retain acidity. They would like to plant some assyrtiko to increase acidity to the blend.
Pretty pungent nose; something hazelnutty, and still that viognier oiliness. Not an easy drink! Noticeable oxidation; quite a lot on the almond/acetaldehyde spectrum. The fruit that is there is again on the ripe white fruit/tropical fruit spectrum. Not easy to love but it’s interesting! -

Showing more freshness, the fruit is more youthful, almond, green pear and apple, lemon and grapefruit peel.
Palate with more intensity, bright green fruit, pear, green apricot, citrus, warmth, high acidity, long finish -

November 12, 2023 - A magnificent Mas de Daumas Gassac vertical from the private cellars of Allard Jakobs (Restaurant Sinck, Amsterdam, NL): Magnum. Remarkably zesty style, rounded but not as big as I had expected, has perhaps lost some of its youthful expression. May re-emerge.
