Community Tasting Notes 5

December 16, 2021 - Young, and needed some time to uncoil, but once it did, it overcame bitter tannins and a less pronounced acidity. Overall, red fruit, slight herbal and earthy notes, decent balance, a little hot, but overall a relatively enjoyable and quite drinkable wine.

October 20, 2021 - Deep Ruby. Clear and didn’t notice sediment. Surprisingly floral almost rose like on nose. Red fruit. Acid and tannins with thick mouth feel. 14.3% abv. Primary fruit. No spice. Pleasantly long finish. This is a inexpensive introduction into southern Rhone Grenache based wine.

May 17, 2021 - Very nonplussed; would not buy again... it's been a while since I've had a wine that was so unenjoyable. Very tannic and acidic but without fruit or bouquet to compensate. Nearly bitter as a result. Maybe, given its "bio" growing conditions, it does not travel well?

March 6, 2021 - Fresh and rich expression of Grenache. Way too drinkable.

February 24, 2021 - Pure Spirits Portfolio Tasting (Oinoscent): The wine is pure Grenache.
Its quite reductive in the nose (so decant or use big glasses), very funky, needs time to clear up but then you get floral notes with raspeberries.
In the palate, the wine is again light, very fresh, raspberries, cherries, medium tannin. Its riper than expected with medium to high acidity, freels harsher, needs time to settle down. The 14% alcohol is a bit more upfront, steely finish.
