April 30, 2022 - Perfect with raw oysters & mignonette, & steamed clams and mussels with white wine broth.

October 26, 2021 - This is a bit regal. Lean bodied but with some weight. Impressive for what I believe is all 2015 fruit. It's not big in the way of depth or expression. What is here is very good. Where I'd love to try it from a better vintage. It is a bit steep in price at $70. I've enjoyed the Les Murgiers bottling from the producer several times. Hoping to try more wines from them.

September 5, 2021 - No note taken. Side by side with Dehours Brisefer 2012 and a magnum of the 2013 Seleque Quintette. Probably my favorite of the flight. Needed air. 91-93.

We’re no strangers to Boulard’s wines, having drunk the majority of their cuvées at least once in various millésimes, but this bottle was an excellent example of how enjoyable and approachable their wines can be even in their youth, and with less than a year post-disgorgement. From the opening, the purity of the chardonnay immediately shone through: lots of vanilla, with some fresh milk and butter (later, with more air, some young cheese appeared as well), as well as fût de chêne; a surprising but delicate oxidative touch was accompanied by a lot of (citrus) fruits such as ripe lemons, crispy green apples, a clean minerality in the way of wet stones and an oystery saltiness, along with a herbal touch of lemongrass, orange blossom, and white flowers, and freshly cut grass; it showed raw almonds, with spiced cookies, some pepper, and a pure nots of freshly washed sheets.
The acidity was naturally quite high in this bottle, but the wine was absolutely delicious; the Boulard style was undeniably present, and it has a great future ahead of it. It was silky on the palate, with small, elegant bubbles. That said, if I buy any more bottles, it won’t be easy to store them knowing how good the wine already is.

March 5, 2021 - Quite well balanced, but also quite broad-shouldered so that is the style here, rather than the really mineral and fresh or softly creamy styles that I to like in BdB. This is extra brut but also malolactic fermentation and elevage in oak and that shows, there is bredd, butter and fudge to add to the lime, white flowers and apple freshness. A very well made champagne.
