February 9, 2024 - A extremely tannic and alcoholic wine, much more so than the 2016, which is lithe and supple in comparison. The label states the alcohol is between 14.5% and 16%, and I would bet it’s at least 15.5%. This may be enjoyable in five years and very good in ten years, but right now it is neither. Tasted two bottles with same results.

January 15, 2024 - Decanted 1.5 hours and drunk over a couple more. Opaque black with a ruby rim. Smelled ripe blackberries, cassis, unsweetened chocolate, iron; tasted the fruit and tobacco notes. Big and burly and a little hot, but with good acid/tannin balance. Finishes long and fruity fading to the unsweetened chocolate.

December 26, 2023 - Took this as a beak wetter to a christmas pot luck. Did I ever mention how much I love pot luck gatherings? :-/
Nothing but French fruit roll ups...Never the less, preferred this way more to the California wines people had brought. Descent acidity, I think this will peak early in about 3 years and god only knows what will happen during sunset. Drink or Hold

November 17, 2023 - Great QPR. Full bodied and fruit forward, more in the modern style but not over done.

September 26, 2023 - The origin or the sister estate. With some menthol and with some gumption too.
