November 5, 2023 - Tasting Ground official tasting, 2015 New World Whites (Jerar restaurant): Chenin blanc solera (2008-2019), old vine chenin blanc, from stony schist based soil of Kasteelberg and decomposed granite based soils of Paardeberg. Each yeast since 2008 one or two barrels are held back for the solera.
The grapes are dried outdoors, 2-3 weeks, 10% yield meaning 1000 kg of grapes will yield just 100lt, 2 days of slow pressing, 10 months fermentation, 8.5%, 331gr RS

The wine shows unbelievable tensity, citrus, pear, grape, mango, apricot, spice, pastry notes, pineapple, spice
Palate as electrifying as ever, high acidity, great depth and structure, layered, mango, stone fruit, peach, apricot, spice, luscious body, insane intensity and length, outstanding quality.

January 14, 2023 - This was an incredible wine, just fabulous! It was extremely complex and completely in harmony. What an experience drinking it! No shame in drinking one know but it will hold for decades.
