May 18, 2016 - Chapelle-Chambertin Dinner with the Lieu-dit Cru (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Open 2+ hours before serving, with a quick double decant. Tasted single blind in 2002 Chapelle flight. Somewhat underwhelming vs my expectations and prior experience. Excellent aromatic start with pure red fruit, good concentration. Just not much nuance coming through on palate. I preferred this a few years ago, and hope it's just in a dumb phase right now.

June 20, 2012 - Burg Dinner, Mostly Meursault Charmes and Gevrey-Chambertin Grand Cru (Sepia - Chicago IL): Open and decanted almost 3 hours before serving. Lush red and black fruit aromas with meaty spice. Slightly more black fruit oriented on palate, long, dense and slightly gamy on finish in a typical Gevrey-Chambertin manner. Clearly still in its infancy. A fascinating contrast to the charmingly rustic Trapet 2002 Chapelle-Chambertin in the next glass.

January 1, 2012 - 2002 Gevrey and Chambolle 1ers (and others): Very closed and reserved to the point that I can't discern anything from the palate. A quiet wine which is hard to appreciate at the moment despite the rich extract which lies within.
