December 29, 2022 - Light blackberry character with a light vanilla note with a slight bell pepper note on the aroma with a similar character on the palate. Medium-plus tannins with a gritty character. Acidity is medium-plus. Medium body. Overall, it is a pleasant wine that is more refined than a traditional old school big Napa.

November 20, 2022 - Thought it was excellent. First time to try this wine. really appreciated the lack of overwhelming oak notes present in many napa cabs, as well as its more restrained style. Needed a good 2 hr decant to open up.

October 30, 2022 - Pop and pour for Chris and Emily's engagement party. Not particularly complex and a slightly sour note front palate just after opening.

August 14, 2022 - Restaurant bottle purchase with dinner at Lionfish in San Diego at a gathering of family and friends. Decanted prior to dinner and enjoyed with a variety of meat and fish entrees. Somewhat youthful and very demonstrative, but not overpowering. Black fruit, structure, and oak just beginning the development phase, looking for equilibrium. Years of life ahead. Requires hearty food and a good decant for the next 12-18 months. Hold or drink though 2033+.

July 4, 2022 - Nose: Ripe blackberries and ripe plums, oak and barrel spice; after giving it some time the nose becomes more integrated and takes on a strong cassis note. Palate: Ripe red plums, oak grain; a pretty straightforward and austere wine, difficult to pick out fruit flavors; firm tannins that give it long aging potential. Overall, this wine tastes like a young and simple Left Bank Bordeaux to me and was quite enjoyable.
