March 24, 2024 - From magnum at the bottom of the cellar. The cork was threatening to crumble, so I used a Coravin. I was surprised by the wine, as I imagined this would just be a hot mess. But there was still plenty of fruit, with no sign of heat. Beautifully integrated, of course

January 5, 2024 - Plums, black cherry, plenty of sweet spice, vanilla, a little coconut, a touch of raisin, leather, smidge of meatiness and some herbaceous notes on the nose. The palate is impressively sweet fruit, especially with some air and despite the age. Woody tannins are powdery, plenty of sweet spice, vanilla, a little herbaceous underpin on the back palate, long. Rather nice and a lot better than I remember this being. Yum.

March 13, 2023 - Coravin fun - Ridge range (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Aromas of caramel, sweet plums, smidge of dried cherry and cranberry, vanilla, a little leather and sweet spice, fades with time in the glass. It's a little sour on the palate with more cherried fruit and woody tannic grip which is quite chalky . medium length with slight alcoholic warmth, Hmm, drink up

July 4, 2022 - Tasted over 3 hrs and day 2, bottle from secondary market
-med dark red violet minimal clearing
-ripe luscious mature notes some oak
-med acidity, med+ weight still some ripe dark berry fruitcake spice faint mature notes intermingle with gentle oak and some noticeable but not overwhelming heat on the finish that somewhat accentuates the med- tannins; vanilla-caramel oak prominent on day 2
-this bottle is still going strong and pleasantly not a hot mess, no hurry but expect no further improvement and the heat will likely become more prominent as the fruit further fades -

April 15, 2022 - A wonderful, fully mature, brilliant bottle. I suspect there was some prominent oak notes earlier in this wine's life which is now a pleasant echo. Leather and spice and everything nice here. A total delight.
