  And don’t get me wrong here - this is a nice wine. But because Marsannay is viewed as a “less favored” locale in terms of white burgundy wine pricing, you can get the next tier of wine from this producer for only $10 more a bottle. And while I am a big fan of cellar defenders, when the price for the single vineyard wine is as minimal as that, I honestly think you are better served by spending the extra bucks and getting the more complex wine.

  February 21, 2022 - Just had a glass of the '19 Clos du Roy and that does this wine no favors. This is pleasant enough on the nose, but the wine comes across as lacking structure on the palate. I can't recall the price differential between the two bottles, but whatever it was, the Clos du Roy was worth the upcharge.
