Community Tasting Notes 8

March 21, 2023 - Silky, lush, and opulent, the wine kicks off with a strong floral note before moving on to its waves of chocolate covered, plums, cherries, wet earth and spices. The wine is supple-textured, with velvety tannins and fabulous energy all the way through, from start to finish. 2020 is the first vintage to show off its new, stylish label and wax capsule as well as the debut vintage kicking off a new era of high-quality wine here. Drink from 2024-2050.

March 6, 2023 - The 2020 vintage UGCB tasting in Amsterdam 03/06/2023 (Amsterdam): Some cherries, some cream, a friendly midtaste with a nice concentration, and firm tannins (at the moment) in a balanced aftertaste.

March 6, 2023 - Vanilla wood, refined, quite ripe fruit but not that very interesting.

November 2022 in Zürich) www.vvwine.ch

November 8, 2022 - Arvi Bordeaux 2020 Arrivage (Dolder Grand, Zurich): Bordeaux 2020 Arrivage tasting. Key observations: 1/ Tannins were generally soft and well-integrated, but still left room for structure, 2/ fruit generally ripe and well-defined, no over-extraction, 3/ all appellation were showing great, but if I had to pick out then it would be Paulliac, 4/ top wines were Petit Village (completely unexpected, 97) and Lynch Bages (96).

    Tasting note:
This was a huge underdog surprise. This was not on my to-do list until a fellow wine enthusiast pointed it out. Intense and abundantly spicy with sweet Christmas spices, a ripe fruit of red and dark cherry, liquorish and dried plum. Incredibly versatile. The palate is deep, bold yet harmonious and builds a bitter sweet flavor profile, also adding cigar box notes.
